William HUGHES

William was born in 1855 in Hindley, Lancashire. William's father was John Hughes and his mother was Maria THOMASON. His maternal grandparents were JONATHAN THOMASON and Mary Higson. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Jonathan , Joseph, Peter, Henry, Mary, Alice and Ann. He was the oldest of the nine known children. He died at the age of 81 on December 31st, 1936 in Newcastle,New South Wales, Australia.
