William was born on May 25th, 1686 in Quethiock, Cornwall.1   William's father was William Doney and his mother was Julian Toms.  He had seven brothers and four sisters, named William, George, Christian, John, Stephen, Nathan, Richard, Margaret, Philippa, Mary and Ann.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 1 on December 26th, 1687 in Quethiock, Cornwall.1
