Mary was born on May 24th, 1697 in Quethiock, Cornwall.1   Mary's father was William Doney and her mother was Julian Toms.  She had eight brothers and three sisters, named William, William, George, Christian, John, Stephen, Nathan, Richard, Margaret, Philippa and Ann.  She was the eighth oldest of the twelve children.
