Mary was born about 1859 in Renhold, Bedfordshire.1   Mary's father was George Barnes Barker and her mother is Emma Harlow.  Her paternal grandfather was George James Barker and her paternal grandmother is Elizebeth; her maternal grandparents are George Harlow and Jane.  She had three brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Charles, Frederick and Martha.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  Mary is no longer alive.
