Jane Thorne

Jane was born about 1840 in Withypool, Somerset and her baptism took place on June 29th, 1841 in Withypool Parish Church.¹² Jane's father was John Thorne and her mother was Sarah Greenslade. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Thorne and Elizabeth Parkin; her maternal grandfather was William Greenslade and her maternal grandmother is Mary. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Richard, John, Jacob, William, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Eliza and Maria. She was the eighth oldest of the twelve children.
