Jacob Thorne

Jacob was born about December 1838 in Withypool, Somerset and his baptism took place on January 6th, 1839 in Withypool Parish Church.¹² Jacob's father was John Thorne and his mother was Sarah Greenslade. His paternal grandparents were Richard Thorne and Elizabeth Parkin; his maternal grandfather was William Greenslade and his maternal grandmother is Mary. He had three brothers and eight sisters, named Richard, John, William, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, Jane, Charlotte, Eliza and Maria. He was the seventh oldest of the twelve children.
