Alice's father was William Smaldon and her mother was Elizabeth Morgan. Her paternal grandparents were Robert SMALDON and Elizabeth Challacombe. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Theophilus, Elizabeth and Mary. She was the second oldest of the five children.
