John Harris

John was born about 1863 in West Anstey, Devon.¹ John's father was John Gaydon Harris and his mother was Sarah Mogford. His paternal grandparents were James Harris and Sally Gaydon; his maternal grandparents were John Mogford and Sarah. He had two brothers and six sisters, named James, William, Lucy, Mary, Ellen, Betsey, Jane and Salome. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
