Sarah was born about May 15th, 1819 in Stoke Pero, Somerset, England and her baptism took place on May 23rd, 1819 in Stoke Pero Parish Church, Somerset.1 2   Sarah's father was HUGH POOLE and her mother was Mary HOOPER.  Her maternal grandfather is JOHN HOOPER and her maternal grandmother was MARY SULLEY.  She had six brothers and three sisters, named James, John, Hugh, William, Thomas, Hugh, Mary, JANE and Elizabeth.  She was the sixth oldest of the ten children.
