Mary Newton

Mary was born about August 1772 in Exford, Somerset and her baptism took place on August 10th, 1772 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.¹ Mary's father was John Newton and her mother was Joan Tar. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Newton and Melior Winsburson?; her maternal grandparents were George Tar and Elizabath Huckstable. She had five brothers and a sister, named John, Richard, Henry, William, James and Joan. She was the fourth oldest of the seven known children.
