- Family Search has births of Jesse and LLewellyn at Exford but birth dates of parents, Richard 1808 and Sarah 1812 do not match 1841 and later census data at Minehead.
  
  Marriage date of 1833 Exford also does not match to other Family Search record of 24 Jan 1824, which is a better match to Frederick, Francis and Felix baptism records at Minehead.

Jesse's father was Richard Newton and his mother was Sarah Sedgebeer. His paternal grandparents were William Newton and Elizabeth NK. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Frederick, Francis, Felix , Henry, William, Louisa and Llewellyn.
