Mary was born about March 1836 in Exford, Somerset and her baptism took place on April 2nd, 1836 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.1  Mary's father was John Pearse? and her mother was Eliza Jones.  Her maternal grandparents were William Jones and Anna Jones.  She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named James, Emily and Elizabeth.
