Mary was born in 1780 in Exford, Somerset and her baptism took place on March 19th, 1780 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.  Mary's father was Richard Gregory and her mother was Grace Vickary.  Her paternal grandfather is Richard Gregory and her paternal grandmother was Joan Baker.  She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Richard, Elizabeth, Joan and Grace.  She was the youngest of the seven known children.
