William was born about March 1st, 1841 in Upcott, Somerset and his baptism took place on March 7th, 1841 in Withiel Florey Parish Church, Somerset.1 2   William's father was William Greenslade and his mother was Jane Baker.  His paternal grandfather was Thomas Greenslade and his paternal grandmother is Hannah Voices; his maternal grandparents were <Unknown> and Frances  Burge.  He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Robert, James, Mary, Jane and Hannah.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven known children.  He died about May 1st, 1865 in Withiel Florey, Somerset.  His burial was on May 21st, 1865 in Withiel Florey Parish Church, Somerset.3 4
