William Gooding

William was born about 1834 in Timberscombe, Somerset, England.¹ William's father was George Gooding and his mother was Joanna Parsons. His paternal grandparents were Simon Gooding and Betty Yondel. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Simon, John, George, Elizabeth and Joanna. He was the second oldest of the seven children.
