William was born about June 1st, 1790 in Withiel Florey, Somerset and his baptism took place on June 27th, 1790 in Withiel Florey Parish Church, Somerset.1   William's father was William Burge and his mother was Mary Cole.  He had three sisters named Frances , Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the third oldest of the four children.
