Frances  was born about January 1st, 1779 in Upton, Somerset and her baptism took place on January 15th, 1779 in Withiel Florey Parish Church, Somerset.1 2   Frances 's father was William Burge and her mother was Mary Cole.  She had a brother and two sisters, named William, Elizabeth and Mary.  She was the oldest of the four children.
