William was born about 1809.  William's father was William Sedgbeer and his mother was Mary Bryant.  His paternal grandparents were John Sedgbeer and Joan Thorne. He had three sisters named Sarah, Ann and Eliza.  He was the third oldest of the four children.  He died in 1865.
