WILLIAM was born about August 15th, 1774 in Exford, Somerset and his baptism took place on August 15th, 1774 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.¹² WILLIAM's father was JOHN NEWTON and his mother was JOAN TAR. His paternal grandparents were HENRY NEWTON and MELIOR WINSBURSON?; his maternal grandparents were GEORGE TAR and ELIZABETH HUCKSTABLE. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Richard, Henry, James, Mary and Joan. He was the fifth oldest of the seven known children. He died about May 1850 in Exford, Somerset, England?. He was buried on June 1st, 1850 in Exford Parish Church, Somerset.
