Mary NEWTON (Mewdon)

Mary was born about August 1772 in Exford, Somerset and her baptism took place on August 10th, 1772 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.¹ Mary's father was JOHN NEWTON and her mother was JOAN TAR. Her paternal grandparents were HENRY NEWTON and MELIOR WINSBURSON?; her maternal grandparents were GEORGE TAR and ELIZABETH HUCKSTABLE. She had five brothers and a sister, named John, Richard, Henry, WILLIAM, James and Joan. She was the fourth oldest of the seven known children.
