Joseph was born in 1821 in Alcombe and his baptism took place on August 9th, 1821 in Dunster Parish Church.  Joseph's father is Joseph May and his mother is Mary Sully. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William, James, Eliza and Ann.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  Joseph is no longer alive.
