Joan was born about June 10th, 1762 in Exford, Somerset, England and her baptism took place on June 21st, 1762 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.1 2   Joan's father was Francis Hooper and her mother was Mary Shapcott.  Her paternal grandparents were John Hooper and Mary; her maternal grandparents were William Shapcott and Joan Widlake. She had a brother named John.  She was the older of the two children.  She died about December 1st, 1834 in Exford, Somerset, England.  She was buried on December 7th, 1834 in Exford Parish Church, Somerset.3 4
