Grace was born in 1772 in Exford, Somerset and her baptism took place on April 19th, 1772 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.  Grace's father was Richard Gregory and her mother was Grace Vickary.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Gregory and Elizabeth White. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Richard, Elizabeth, Joan and Mary.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven known children.
