Eli was born about April 1st, 1840 in Allerford, Selworthy, Somerset, England and his baptism took place on April 16th, 1840 in Selworthy, Somerset, England.1 2  Eli's father was William Cooksley and his mother was Ann Morgan. He had five brothers and two sisters, named James, John, William, Samuel, Thomas, Mary and Jane.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died about June 1st, 1841 in Allerford, Selworthy, Somerset, England.  He was buried on June 9th, 1841 in Selworthy Church, Somerset.3 4
