His paternal grandparents were Johann Gottlob Joachim Goerhold and Marie Elisabeth Sandnerin. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Daniel, John David, Jacob B, Charles, Peter D, Andrew Jackson, Katharine (Catherine?) Wilhelmina, Elisabeth, Rebecca and Susenna (Susan). He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He had a half-sister named Mary Ellen. He died at the age of 94 on January 16th, 1960.General Notes
