Eduardo's father was Domingo Riga and his mother was Raymunda Lopez Caparroz.  His maternal grandparents were Antonio Lopez and Juana Caparroz.  He is the eighth of eleven children.  He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Domingo, Angel, Jose, Rosa, Blanca, Clara, Clara, Dora, Maria and Susana.
