Santiago was born on January 25th, 1970.  Santiago's father is Jorge Gonzalez Pareja and his mother is Susana Edith Riga.  His maternal grandparents were Domingo Riga and Raymunda Lopez Caparroz.  He is the fifth of eight children.  He has five brothers and two sisters, named Bernardo, Federico, Pablo, Martin, Fernando, Susana and Mariana.
