Silvia was born on November 18th, 1952.  Silvia's father was Marcelino Antonio Cupani and her mother is Rosa Haydeé Riga.  Her paternal grandparents were Epifanio María Cupani and Antonia Donato; her maternal grandparents were Domingo Riga and Raymunda Lopez Caparroz.  She is the youngest of four children.  She has a brother and two sisters, named Mario, Marta and Graciela.
