Martin was born on January 15th, 1975.  Martin's father is Mario Omar Cupani and his mother is Sonia Evelin Paredes.  His paternal grandparents were Marcelino Antonio Cupani and Rosa Haydeé Riga; his maternal grandparents were Juan Paredes Vargas and Ofelia Zilvetti Juarez.  He is the fourth of six children.  He has three brothers and two sisters, named Marcelo, Mauricio, Marcos, Mariana and María.
