John was born in 1797.  John's father was John ORSON and his mother was Rebekah RASIN.  His paternal grandparents were John ORSON and Ann DIXON.  He had three brothers and a sister, named William, Francis, James and Mary.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 77 in 1874.
