Ann was born in 1835.  Ann's father was William GIBBS and her mother was Hannah COMPTON.  Her maternal grandparents were George COMPTON and Sarah.  She had four brothers and two sisters, named Edward, George, Oliver, Charles, Catherine and Frances.  She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
