Roger  was born in 1761.  Roger 's father was Samuel Daniel and his mother was Sarah Daniel (Hawking).  His paternal grandparents were Anthony Daniel and Elizabeth Daniel (Saunders); his maternal grandparents were Roger Hawking and Martha Larkworthy. He had three brothers and a sister, named Robert, Isaac, John  and Mary.  He was the oldest of the five children.
