Martha was born on April 9th, 1843 in Stevenston.  Martha's father was William Tyre and her mother was Margaret Millar.  Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Tyre and Mary Crawford; her maternal grandparents were William Millar and Martha Wilson.  She was an only child.  She died due to a medical problem at the age of 83 on June 11th, 1926 in Ayr.
