Isabella's father was John Lawrie and her mother was Elizabeth Reid. Her maternal grandparents were William Reid and Mary ?. She had a brother and three sisters, named James, Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the five children. She died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia at the age of 43 on January 17th, 1909 in Coylton.
