Mary Ellen was born about 1874 in Gittisham, Devon, England.1   Mary Ellen's father is James Marks and her mother is Sarah.  Her paternal grandparents are Thomas Marks and <Unknown>.  She has two brothers and a sister, named Frank, Albert and Jessie.  She is the youngest of the four children.
