Mario was born on May 9th, 1947.  Mario's father was João dos Santos Lima and his mother was Generosa.  His paternal grandparents were Francisco  de Paula Lima and Carolina dos Santos Lima.  He had five brothers and three sisters, named Antonio, João, Jose, Delcio, Tarcisio, Dirlce, Dodora and Ailza.  He was the sixth oldest of the nine children.  He died due to a medical problem at the age of 48 on January 1st, 1996.
