Ruben was born on October 7th, 1812 in Tennessee.  Ruben's father was John HAWKINS and his mother was Polly Carney (Hawkins). He had four brothers and a sister, named Griffith, John, Joshua, William and Bathsheba .  He died at the age of 46 in February 1859 in Madison County, Arkansas.
