Thomas was born in October 1705 in Ann Arundel, Maryland.  Thomas' father was Richard Estep and his mother was Rebecca Ramsey (Estep).  His paternal grandparents were John Estep(Eastop) and Elizabeth Lucy Eaton (Estep); his maternal grandparents were Ramsey and Ann unknown (Ramsey).  He was an only child.
