William was born in 1811.  William's father was Thomas Alexander Porch and his mother was Tabatha Bonner (Porch).  His maternal grandparents were Richard Bonner and Frances Mitchell. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Alexander, James, Julius, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Frances, Susan, Sarah, Pleasant and Mary.  He was the oldest of the eleven children. He had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Henry, Thomas, Stiles, John, John, Elizabeth, Celia, Sarah, Nancy and Ella.  He died in 1811.
