Ella was born in 1852.  Ella's father was Thomas Alexander Porch and her mother was Jane Elizabeth Ragland Witherspoon. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Stiles, John, John, Elizabeth, Celia, Sarah and Nancy.  She was the youngest of the nine children. She had five half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Henry, William, Alexander, James, Julius, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Frances, Susan, Sarah, Pleasant and Mary.  She died at the age of 58 in 1910.
