Gisela was born on February 10th, 1106.  Gisela's father was Hesso von Venis and her mother was Marie Bruce.  Her paternal grandparents were Ulrich von Venis and Douce von Chalns.  She had two brothers and two sisters, named Guy, Leopold, Kunigunde and Adelheid.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 47 on September 7th, 1153.
