Waclaw was born on February 2nd, 1124.  Waclaw's father was Janislaw z Czarnkowa and his mother was Pribyslava Premyslid.  His maternal grandparents were Vladislav Premyslid and Mlada.  He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Jakusz, Tomasz, Bogumil, Wladislaw, Kazimierz, Dobieslaw, Ziemowit, Bezprym, Zofia and Helena.  He was the tenth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 65 on April 11th, 1189.
