Spytihnev was born on January 1st, 1031.  Spytihnev's father was Bretislav Premyslid and his mother was Judith von Schweinfurt.  His paternal grandparents were Oldrich Premyslid and Bozena of Bohemia.  He had four brothers named Vratislav, Jaromir, Konrad and Oto.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 30 on January 1st, 1061.
