Karol was born on April 29th, 1088.  Karol's father was Oldrich Premyslid and his mother was Andela.  His paternal grandparents were Konrad Premyslid and Wirpirk of Moravia.  He had three sisters named Svatava, Jitka and Blazena.  He was the third oldest of the four children.  He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Vratislav, Mrton, Jaromir, Barbora and Guta.  He died at the age of 2 on June 2nd, 1090.
