Spytihnev was born on August 10th, 1121.  Spytihnev's father was Detrich Halicz and his mother was Etel Piast.  His paternal grandparents were Vanek Halicz and Judita Luxembourg.  He had five brothers and four sisters, named Otakar, Vratislav, Lzr, Ondrej, Ales, Wojslawa, Joln, Jitka and Jana.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Kazimierz, Rostislav, Kojata and Mila.  He died at the age of 4 on August 27th, 1125.
